Nestle Case Study
We were approached by Nestlé to carry out a survey to explore how they are perceived by the residents of York.
The aim was to understand the local attitudes towards Nestlé, track changes over time, and identify areas where the company could strengthen its relationship with the community.
We began the project by recruiting participants for three online focus groups, each consisting of approximately 8-10 residents. These sessions explored key topics in greater depth and helped shape the development of the survey questions. This combined approach ensured a comprehensive understanding of local perceptions and priorities, capturing a full picture of community and former employee views.
Following the focus groups we produced a robust quantitative survey ensuring coverage across nine York postcodes. We gathered responses from 377 residents-260 by telephone and 117 online-achieving a representative sample with a 95% confidence level and a 5% margin of error. The questionnaire explored overall impressions, trust, reputation, social and environmental impact, and awareness of Nestlé’s community activities. Results were presented in a detailed summary report, providing clear, actionable insights.
